Cold-endurance Festival- Japan

‘Shintoism’ is a faith in Japan. The believers of Shintoism pour cold water on their bodies to purify their body and soul as part of an annual Cold-endurance festival. ‘Kanda Myojin’ is one of the known Shinto Shrines in Tokyo. A similar reference has been made in the book ‘Living with Himalayan Masters’ authored by Swami Rama in which Yogis atop Himalayan peaks would bathe in cold water as part of a self-inflicted rigor to make good for any deviation from their regular spiritual practices. Cisternino- Italy

‘Cisternino’ is in hot news. If you were particular of about having a safe haven that would keep you away from the apocalypse believed to happen on Dec 21 according to the Mayan calendar, then Cisternino may be the right place.

Tourists are making a beeline to Cisternino in southern Italy as residents believe that an Indian Babaji (Saint or a spiritual master) had foretold that Cisternino “will become an island” when the world comes to an end. This has triggered a reason for a safe settlement there. Cisternino is situated in the Pugalia region in Italy. Lots of heightened activities are scheduled between December 19 and 26 such as information, sharing, celebration and Meditation.

'Love Huts' of Kreung tribes of Northeast Cambodia

Sex is experimental in early teen girls amongst 'Kreung tribes' of Cambodia. Parents of girls are liberal enough to construct 'love huts' for their teen age girls, where the girls can stay alone and experience sex with many men she likes until she gets a suitable partner as her husband.

They have graduated from traditional methods of contraception to modern methods of using condoms in the process. The idea behind the practice is that they believe they can fix a suitable partner for their daughter who satisfies herself with a perfect partner until she gets one. This, they believe results in permanent marital harmony.

Any of my readers visiting Cambodia may like to have a look at these love huts.
